Eddie Howe could be sweating on the availability of strikers Alexander Isak and Callum Wilson ahead of Wednesday's trip to Manchester United.
Newcastle are in pole position to edge United out of a European spot for next season and they will be aiming to follow up their 3-0 win in the Carabao Cup at Old Trafford earlier this season.
Both teams have suffered chronic injury issues this season and some key men are battling to be fit for the fixture. Wilson missed Newcastle's draw with Brighton on Saturday due to "illness and tightness", while Isak was substituted after 68 minutes having also suffered from illness in the build-up to the game.
Both are expected to be in contention for the game at Old Trafford at this stage.
