David Ehrlich, chief film critic for IndieWire, has been named the 2025 chair of the NYFCC, taking over leadership of the country’s oldest critics group.

Stephen Garrett will continue as general manager. The announcement follows the NYFCC’s 90th anniversary celebration earlier this year, which featured an impressive lineup of presenters and honorees, including Brady Corbet’s “The Brutalist,” which was awarded best picture by Robert Pattinson and best actor for Adrien Brody by his co-star Guy Pearce.
