David Robert Joseph Beckham OBE (born 2 May 1975) is an English former professional footballer, the current president of Inter Miami CF and co-owner of Salford City. He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. He is the first English player to win league titles in four countries: England, Spain, the United States and France. He retired in May 2013 after a 20-year career, during which he won 19 major trophies.

David Beckham has once again been 'snubbed' for a knighthood on the New Year Honours list. The former England footballer, 45, had been a favourite to pick up a title last year, given his service to the sport and various charities, but has been passed over once again.

David's name was famously missing from the list in 2017 amid scrutiny over his investments in a tax avoidance scheme. It's been suggested that the star went on to pay a reported £12.7 million in tax the following year, which placed him and wife Victoria among the country's 50 biggest tax payers.
