New housing development in Larkhall gets the go ahead

South Lanarkshire councillors have approved a planning application for a small-scale housing development in Larkhall.Elected members of the planning committee gave the green light to a 55-home development in the town last week (September 13).The plans, submitted by Miller Homes, will see the new properties being constructed as well as associated infrastructure and landscaping.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

It is currently accessed from an informal track at the corner of Strathaven Road and Sandyford Road.The development would be accessed from a new part off the existing roundabout to the northeast of the site incorporating a section of land associated with the adjacent community facility.Plans for a new footway link onto Strathaven Road have also been incorporated into proposals.Drainage for the new development would be connected to an existing sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDs) pond close to the site.The Roads Development Management Team had no objections to the proposal subject to the attachment of a number of conditions including further roundabout
