Maybole is gearing up to welcome a ‘new and improved’ supermarket at the end of the week.Supermarket shoppers will see a new larger Co-op store on Friday as the retailer relocates from the High Street to Kirkoswald Road.The shop - which opens between 6am and 10pm daily - is more than 2,000 sq ft larger than the existing store in the town - and includes customer car parking, an in-store bakery, hot food and a Costa coffee dispenser.Supporting 20 local jobs, the new store also boasts a free ATM to provide access to cash in the community and Amazon Lockers for convenient parcel collection.Shoppers can expect a range of fresh, healthy products, hot food, food-to-go, everyday essentials, Fairtrade products, flowers, chilled beers and wines, ready meals, and vegan and plant-based products – including Co-op’s exclusive vegan range, GRO.A soft plastic recycle unit is also available in store to enable the community to recycle ‘soft plastics’ including: crisp packets and bread bags, lids from ready meals and yogurt pots, biscuit wrappers and pet food pouches.This means that all Co-op’s own food packaging is recyclable through either council kerbside collections, or the in-store soft plastic recycling unit.And students who are TOTUM cardholders- a student discount card and app- and Young Scot cardholders are reminded that they receive a 10 per cent discount off groceries at Co-op.Jonathan Kirkland, Co-op Store Manager, said: “We are delighted to have the opportunity to launch Co-op’s newest store, and the team is really looking forward to welcoming the community into their new and improved Co-op.“Our aim is to operate at the heart of local life, and we have worked to develop the range, choice and added services to create a
