New blow for opening of caravan parks and campsites in England

Caravan parks and campsites won't be reopening before July 4, despite mounting calls to do so earlier. The British Holiday & Home Parks Association (BH&HPA) represent 2,000 parks in England and have been campaigning for the early reopening of sites across the UK.

BH&HPA director-general Ros Pritchard, has written to the Prime Minister asking why holiday parks would have to wait until July to reopen, possibly alongside pubs, when social distancing for those with a holiday home "will be identical to what they do at home".

Park owners have been closed since March and have warned the July 4 date is too late after missing out on income from the popular spring season The BH&HPA had hoped that England may mirror Northern Ireland who yesterday
