New banking hub for Ayrshire town will play "vital role" in the community, says MSP

Troon’s new banking hub will play a “vital role” for people seeking access to regular high street banking and cash withdrawals, or deposits.That’s the view of Ayr MSP Siobhian Brown, who was on hand at the ribbon-cutting ceremony in the town’s Ayr Street last Friday.Ms Brown was joined by Central Ayrshire MP, Dr Philippa Whitford, and other stakeholders, as the new hub was officially opened before greeting its first customers.Troon’s Banking Hub is a shared banking space and will offer a counter service operated by the Post Office, where customers of all major banks and building societies can carry out regular cash transactions, Monday to Friday.The Hub also offers a Community Banker service where customers can talk to their own banking provider about more complicated issues.The Community Bankers will work on rotation, with a different bank or building society available on each day of the week.MSP Ms Brown said: “A big congratulations to the team behind this project.
