A new estate of 87 flats and houses is planned for an area of grassland between Radcliffe and Bury. Westchurch Homes have lodged plans with Bury Council for the development off Dumers Lane, close to the Bealey Industrial Estate.
The majority fo the site is described as a ‘mosaic of unmanaged neutral grassland, bramble scrub, willow scrub and scattered self-seeded trees’.
The current use of the remainder of the area is hard standing yards used to store buses and other vehicles, industrial buildings and a car wash.
There are also existing houses along the south-eastern frontage of the site across from Dumers Lane. Westchurch said they plan to build a combination of flats, terraced, detached and semi-detached housing.
