A never before heard demo track by David Bowie recorded years before his first big hit is being sold at auction. The song 'I Do Believe I Love You' was recorded in 1966 and showcases a rare style of mainstream 60s pop music for the star.

The unique acetate recording is expected to fetch up to £5,000 and has only previously been heard by a few people. Bowie shot into the public consciousness with 'Space Oddity' three years later and went on to become an icon.

He passed away in 2016. The song was recorded when Bowie was signed to Orbit Music Publishing, whose owner also worked with The Who and The Kinks.
