Netflix Won't Compete at Cannes Film Festival in 2022

Some news in the film world today regarding the 2022 Cannes Film Festival. Netflix has announced that it has no plans to debut any films at the festival this year.

In France, every movie must have a theatrical release in the country in order to compete in the festival. Click inside to read more… A Netflix rep confirmed to Variety that the streaming service “isn’t planning to world premiere its films at the festival’s 75th edition.” There are some highly anticipated Netflix films that many believed might make the festival cut this year including the Marilyn Monroe biopic starring Ana de Armas.
