Netflix The Decameron creator's big admission about new comedy series' 'historical accuracy'

Kathleen Jordan, the creator behind The Decameron adaptation, has shared insights into the significant alterations she made to the medieval anthology to create the Netflix series.

Set against the backdrop of the Black Death sweeping through Europe, the original work dates back nearly 700 years and centres on a group of individuals who retreat to a villa to escape the plague, entertaining themselves with 100 stories as Florence succumbs to the disease.

Kathleen confessed ahead of the show's preview: "When I read The Decameron, I realised its stories are not necessarily fit for television. "They're like short little horny tales.
