The star — who made her acting debut at age 9 — rose to fame following her roles in the 2010 action movie “The Man from Nowhere” and the 2012 thriller, “The Neighbor.” But, took a step back from acting after drunkenly crashing her car into a roadside electrical transformer box in May 2022, South China Morning Post reported.

The crashed caused public humiliation that drove her out of the limelight.She attempted to return to acting last year, but later dropped out over health issues, according to Yonhap.Kim’s body was discovered around 4:50 p.m.

local time, the Korea Herald reported. “We have not found any signs of foul play as of yet, but we are investigating the circumstances of the death,” police told the outlet.

Following her drunk driving collision, Kim was fined 20 million won ($13,850) and stopped taking on roles. At the time, she also stepped down from her role in the drama series “Trolley,” according to the South China Morning Post.
