Long before Netflix'snotorious Tiger King 'Joe Exotic' became a household name, he was already making waves as the owner of a pet shop in Arlington, Texas.
A life-long animal lover, Joe Maldonado-Passage, nee Schreibvogel, 57, opened the store 'Pet Safari' with his first husband and his brother Garold in 1986.
When his bother died in a car crash in 1997 he sold the pet shop for $70,000 and set up the Garold Wayne Exotic Animal Memorial Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma.
