Glasgow's Govan district has made an unexpected cameo in what is rumoured to be Netflix's most expensive series ever. The southside locale sets the scene for the opening of an episode of Netflix's 3 Body Problem, a show that reportedly cost a whopping $20 million per episode to produce.Govan even gets a shout-out from one of the main characters.
This ambitious eight-part sci-fi series is based on a series of Chinese novels by Liu Cixin, titled Remembrance of Earth's Past.The series gained attention for its hefty budget, which according to the Hollywood Reporter, stands at $160 million.
The plot kicks off with scientists mysteriously dying while working on significant technological advancements.A group of university pals, known as the 'Oxford Five', who are a mix of successful scientists, educators and businesspeople, find themselves tangled up in the mystery.
They eventually uncover that alien forces, the 'San-Ti', are behind the strange deaths. These menacing beings are on their way to Earth but are several centuries away.
