Netflix has launched a new initiative entitled the Documentary Talent Fund aimed as supporting and nurturing upcoming filmmakers from across the U.K.

The fund —open to any U.K. resident — will see 10 filmmakers and their teams given a budget of between £20,000 ($27,000) and £40,000 ($54,000) to make a short documentary film, with the only creative brief being the tagline "Britain's Not Boring And Here's A Story." All teams will be under the guidance of Netflix and other industry professionals to help ensure that filmmakers and everyone involved in the production are fairly paid, and in a bid to open doors to those most under-represented in the industry.
