NEON is releasing Jake Johnson‘s feature directorial debut Self Reliancein theaters for one night only on Jan. 3, 2024 before the pic’s Jan.
12 streaming date on Hulu. The comedy-thriller will screen as part of a one-night stunt event in exclusive partnership with AMC Theaters at 225 locations, and feature a ten-minute behind-the-scenes discussion between Johnson and Lamorne Morris (New Girl).
Self Reliance premiered at the 2023 SXSW Festival and was quickly acquired by Hulu in a deal with MRC, which backed the project, and Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Johnson also stars alongside Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect), Natalie Morales (Parks and Recreation), Andy Samberg (Palm Springs), GaTa (“Dave”), Emily Hampshire (“Schitt’s Creek”), Mary Holland (Happiest Season), Boban Marjanović (Hustle), with Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future), and Wayne Brady (How I Met Your Mother).
