Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Celtic boss Neil Lennon insists he and his players are desperate to continue their season and win the league on the pitch. The Hoops gaffer admits he feels sorry for the players that they can't continue their fine form that they've shown this season as they chase a ninth league title in a row.

The SPFL voted through a resolution last week that ended the three lower divisions and also allows them to end the Premiership if they feel it can't be completed.

That would see Celtic win the title on a points per game average but Lennon admits that missing out on winning it in front of fans, as well as the opportunity to clinch a fourth treble in a row if they lifted the Scottish Cup again, is frustrating.
