Neil Lennon will NOT be the next manager of Ireland as the FAI begin notifying candidates over the top job, according to a report.
Director of football for the Football Association of Ireland, Marc Canham, has kicked-off communications with unsuccessful candidates.
Former Celtic boss Lennon, who was long thought to be one of the top names in the running, has now been ruled out as a successor to Stephen Kenny.
The Irish Mirror reports that Canham contacted Lennon on Sunday morning to notify him he would not secure the role. On Saturday, while working as a pundit for Premier Sports, Lennon revealed a decision was coming soon.
