Warring next-door neighbours spent £110,000 and four years in furious row over a £4,000 parking space. Artist Helen Masacz - who in 2018 invited the public to deface her portrait of Boris Johnson - and her civil servant neighbour Bernard Chaney, were locked in a battle that a judge said ended with 'no winner'.
Mr Chaney, 62, wanted to create a space so a car could be parked alongside Ms Masacz's vehicle outside their adjoining north London homes, and demanded that she pay half the cost of the £4,000 work.
But the artist objected to her neighbour's plans and refused to cough up, leading to a four-year-long clash. A judge has now ruled the work can be done and ordered the pair to split the £110,000 costs of the case.
