A person has suffered multiple injuries following a suspected explosion in a town in Wales. Emergency services rushed to the home in Chepstow and put a cordon in place.

Nearby residents say they heard a "massive bag" before the home was engulfed in a fireball. The explosion scattered debris across the street and caused terrified neighbours to start screaming, reports Wales Online.

South Wales Fire and Rescue Service was called to the incident at roughly 6.30pm today and deployed six fire engines at the scene.

South Wales Police said residents are being evacuated form the area for their own safety. A force spokesman added: "The public are advised to stay away from the area at this time".
