Neighbours say they heard "screams" and a loud "bang" as a fatal fire ripped through a house in Tameside. A man has died after the blaze tore through a terraced home in Kipling Avenue, Droylsden, in the early hours of this morning (Wednesday).
Fire crews rushed to the scene at about midnight and attempted to put out the flames. However, the man, whose age has not been revealed, was pronounced dead at the scene.

They have not said whether the fire is being treated as arson, but described it as an "isolated incident". A scene remained in place on Kipling Avenue throughout Wednesday morning and into the afternoon.
