It has since been confirmed that a man has died.Police say they are not treating the blaze as suspicious.Images from the scene show the windows of the tenement flat blown out following the incident.
Police, fire crews and ambulance teams were pictured in attendance.A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "A man has died following a fire in a flat in Polwarth Street, Hyndland.
