Thirty-six high street banks have closed in Greater Manchester in three years, according to new data. Branches of top banks including Halifax, Natwest, and Lloyds have disappeared from our region's high streets at a rapid rate since February 2022 - with one already closing in 2025.
It comes as nearly 2,000 banks have closed in the UK in three years since the launch of an initiative designed to protect access to cash on the high street.
