Chris Willman Senior Music Writer and Chief Music Critic London-based rapper Little Simz has been awarded the 2022 Mercury Prize, topping a list of candidates that included Harry Styles, Wet Leg and Sam Fender. The 28-year-old performer won for “Sometimes I Feel Introvert,” her fourth album, and her second to be nominated for the prestigious honor, after “Grey Area” landed on the shortlist for the same award in 2019. Little Simz has been considered a major artist in the U.K. for years, although this album represented more of a breakthrough for her in the U.S. That may hold somewhat true in her native country, too — she recently won the best new artist award at the Brits, despite having released albums over the last seven years.

Naman Ramachandran Indian media and entertainment company Shemaroo Entertainment is collaborating with Indian Media Entertainment Network (IMEN) to reimagine 1990 Bollywood hit “Jamai Raja,” that starred Anil Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit and Hema Malini. The news was revealed on Oct. 19, the 32nd anniversary of the film’s theatrical release. The film, which revolves around a mother-in-law and son-in-law conflict, was originally made in the Telugu language in 1989 by writer-director A. Kodandarami Reddy as “Attaku Yamudu Ammayiki Mogudu,” starring Chiranjeevi and Vijayshanti. It was remade in Tamil the same year as “Mappillai,” starring Rajinikanth, and another Tamil-language remake of the same name, starring Dhanush, released in 2011. Reddy also directed “Jamai Raja.” A Bengali-language remake “Sasurbari Zindabad,” starring Prosenjit Chatterjee, released in 2000.

On Tuesday evening, Wilde shared an image of a page from Nora Ephron’s novel “Heartburn,” featuring a passage that discloses a salad recipe, on her Instagram story. Ephron’s autobiographical 1983 novel details her rocky marriage with, and eventual divorce from, her second husband, Carl Bernstein. Wilde’s post seems to be a response to a recent Daily Mail report detailing the breakdown of her and Sudeikis’ domestic partnership, centered on allegations made by the couple’s ex-nanny. The article states Sudeikis, who shares two children with Wilde, was “infuriated” after his partner prepared a salad for Styles with her “special dressing.” According to the ex-nanny, the encounter left Sudekis “ranting furiously at [Wilde] and filming the encounter, before he tried to prevent her leaving by lying under the car.”

A prosecutor described rape allegations by three women Tuesday against "That ’70s Show" actor Danny Masterson from two decades ago that contained some of the same disturbing elements.
