Jennifer Maas TV Business Writer “NBA 2K25” is set for a Sept. 6 launch with a special edition cover that will feature athletes from both the NBA and WNBA for the first time in the 2K franchise’s history.
The standard cover will showcase five-time NBA All-Star Boston Celtics Forward and reigning NBA Champion Jayson Tatum, who will also be featured with back-to-back WNBA Champion, two-time WNBA MVP and six-time WNBA All-Star Las Vegas Aces Forward, A’ja Wilson on the cover for the “All-Star Edition.” Wilson will be the solo cover star for the GameStop exclusive WNBA edition, while NBA dunk contest legend Vince Carter will be the star of the “NBA 2K25 Hall of Fame Edition.” “NBA 2K25” will be released for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
In a first for the franchise, “NBA 2K25” will offer MyNBA, The W and in The City mode parity between PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC, giving those consoles access to the New-Gen version of the game, featuring ProPLAYTM technology.
However, PCs will not get Crossplay support, which will only be available for PS5 and Xbox consoles. Per the game’s description, “With ‘NBA 2K25,’ players will forge a dynasty in MyCAREER, compete in new MyTEAM modes, and, for those on New-Gen platforms, players will also experience an added sixth era in MyNBA, a more compact and interactive City, along with the chance to cement their G.O.A.T.
