Nationwide is offering its members a new way to make payments, but has warned "don't" when it comes to making certain changes.
Its millions of customers can "start making easier payments today", the building society has said. Customers have a Nationwide card reader that is needed for certain online payments to "help keep you safe from fraud", with the device adding an extra layer of security.
However, when members log in to the Nationwide banking app, many are prompted with a new update. Nationwide says they can "join the one million paying without a card reader" - and people can do this by providing a photo.
The alert adds: "You will be able to pay anyone in our app using your 6-digit passnumber, Face ID or TouchID". But, the banking provider continues: "Don't throw away your card reader".
