Luckless Nathan Patterson was forced off injured just over 20 minutes into Scotland's Nations League clash with Ukraine. The right-back has been in fine form for Everton after recovering from an ankle problem that required surgery back in April.
That ensured his Toffees career didn't get off the ground until this summer when the impressive 20-year-old forced his way into Frank Lampard's plans.
But now he's cruelly suffered a fresh setback after sustaining what appeared to be a knee injury at Hampden on Wednesday night.
Patterson landed awkwardly when battling for the ball and although he was able to walk off the pitch, a stretcher was soon called for the former Rangers youngster.
