A grandmother is devastated after missing out on her £1,200 holiday to Spain after her flight was delayed for 13 hours. Lesley Horner, 62, arrived at the airport early for her flight to Palma in Majorca and was expecting to arrive at her final destination Cala D'or on the island in time for lunch.
But on checking in at Doncaster airport, she was told her flight had been pushed back 13 hours and she wouldn't get to the resort until 9pm in the evening.
After waiting five hours in the uncomfortable airport lounge, she decided she couldn't take it anymore and left the airport - walking away from her holiday, as reported by the LiverpoolEcho.
Travel provider TUI said the delay was due to a technical fault with the plane and whilst they had hoped to put affected passengers up in a local hotel, they were unable to find one suitable.
