The cause of a helicopter crash which killed the pilot and his teenage passenger is not yet known, an inquest jury has heard.
Ian Macdonald, 66, and Admasu Tefera, 16, died after Mr Macdonald’s Guimbal Cabri G2 helicopter crashed in June 2022. The incident took place near the village of Ingleton, in North Yorkshire, following an 80-minute-long flight around the Lake District.
Admasu, a German student visiting the UK, was on his first helicopter ride when tragedy struck. The aircraft plummeted vertically into a tree and caught fire, an inquest hearing in Northallerton heard today (November 18).
A jury of five women and six men were read an investigation report by the Air Accidents Investigation Branch (AAIB).
