My So Called Life's Claire Danes & Winnie Holzman to Reunite for 'Applebaum Curse,' HBO's New Drama Series

Two forces behind the hit ’90s show My So Called Life are collaborating for a new project. Winnie Holzman, who created My So Called Life, and also wrote the script for the stage and film version of Wicked, revealed that she is developing an HBO family drama titled The Applebaum Curse. Claire Danes is set to star in the series as the lead role, while Winnie will serve as an executive producer and writer. It’s not a reboot in the traditional sense, but I think Claire Danes and I back together would be a kind of version of that,” Winnie told Variety while at the Writer’s Guild Awards on Saturday (February 15), where she was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for her work on the film Wicked.

The teen drama My So Called Life aired on ABC from 1994-1995. Claire Danes played the lead character, Angela Chase, and the show was considered a significant coming of age story.
