My Sister's Keeper star who played Cameron Diaz’s son dies aged 35

American actor Evan Ellingson has sadly died aged 35 whilst residing in sober-living accommodation. The CSI: Miami actor - who was also known for his starring role in the poignant My Sister's Keeper - is reported to have died at a San Bernardino property on Sunday 5 November.

According to TMZ, the 35-year-old was found unresponsive at a sober-living home, where he was staying, reports OK!.Evan's dad Michael reportedly informed the publication that his son was battling drug addiction in recent years, however, he was doing better in the past few months and receiving treatment.

The star's relative added that Evan's death was a huge shock, and the family are reeling over the loss.TMZ went on to add that the coroner's office there appeared to be "no foul play involved" in the vicinity of where Evan's body was found.Evan first appeared on viewers' screens in 2001 at the age of 12 - when he bagged a small appearance in the hit American medical soap General Hospital.

He was quick to become a well-known child star in Hollywood, even landing a part in crime drama Bones, alongside David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel.Evan also appeared in TV series Titus, as well as Complete Savages, but his career really started to take off when he took the role of Kiefer Sutherland's screen nephew Josh Bauer in 24.He then landed the role of Jesse Fitzgerald, Cameron Diaz's son, in My Sister's Keeper, based on the book.The star was also critically acclaimed for his role in the film, which starred Alec Baldwin and Abigail Breslin as the title child with a terminal condition.
