'My rude neighbour held onto my package – but people say I'm one in the wrong'

Many of us are grateful for our neighbours who take in parcels for us.When we're out at work, on holiday or running errands, it can be hard to keep up with the boxes and letters that arrive at our doorsteps.

But thankfully, there are times delivery workers hand over the goods to other residents who live nearby.You can then liaise with them to get hold of your packages – and it saves you a lengthy trip to the Post Office.

But who exactly should be responsible for making sure the items end up at the right place?On Instagram Threads, a woman sparked heated debate when she complained that her neighbour hadn't come over to deliver an "important package".

Carly Chamalik, a flight instructor, wrote: “An important package was mistakenly delivered to my neighbour last week and they have KEPT IT.“I’ve been stressing for 5 days, talking to the Post Office, looking out my window every 30 minutes.
