'My journey's not ended' - Tom Cleverley sets his sights on Manchester United return

Former Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley has said that he wishes to return to the club in some capacity in the future having missed out on saying goodbye to the Reds back in 2015.

Cleverley was a product of the United academy and was promoted to the first team in 2008. Initial loan spells at Leicester City, Watford and Wigan Athletic put the midfielder in good stead to make 79 appearances for the Reds.

In 2014, United would send the English central midfielder out on loan to Aston Villa and upon the end of that spell, Cleverley would join Everton on a permanent free transfer.

The 33-year-old currently captains Watford in the Championship but due to the manner of his exit from Old Trafford, he wishes to return to the club in the future. "The reason being, at Villa we got to the FA Cup final which was the last game of the season," he said. "So, I remember, I think I might have gone away with England, then got married and just didn’t get round to going back to Carrington and saying all my goodbyes.
