When a woman from Lancashire was pregnant with her second son, she was diagnosed with kidney disease that would change the rest of her life.
Emma Edwards gave birth to her son in the year 2000, but whilst she was pregnant, doctors were concerned that she might have pre-eclampsia, or high-blood pressure after urine tests showed something was going on.
Sending her for scans after she gave birth to her son in the December, results showed that she had one scarred kidney and one kidney that was leaking protein.
A few years later as Emma's kidneys worsened, medical professionals at Burnley Hospital informed the mum that it was "now or never" to have another child and in 2006, she gave birth to her daughter.
