My Hero Academia is one of the most beloved anime TV shows out right now. The Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi was serialized in Shueisha’s Weekly Shōnen Jump from July 2014 to August 2024, with its chapters collected in 41 volumes as of August 2024.
It was adapted into an anime TV series by Bones, with the first season airing from April to June 2016 in Japan. Here’s a plot summary, via Crunchyroll: “Izuku has dreamt of being a hero all his life—a lofty goal for anyone, but especially challenging for a kid with no superpowers.
That’s right, in a world where eighty percent of the population has some kind of super-powered ‘quirk,’ Izuku was unlucky enough to be born completely normal.
But that’s not enough to stop him from enrolling in one of the world’s most prestigious hero academies.” The show has been on ever since, all the way up to its seventh season, which just aired from May to October 2024.
