A woman who was dumped after an eight-month romance drove into her ex-partner in the middle of the road. Phillip Ashton says he is lucky to be alive after his ex-girlfriend deliberately ran him down, leaving him clinging on to the bonnet of her Renault.
The 29-year-old had struck up a relationship with Kirsty Smith, 30, after meeting at work in Asda. Their romance soon fizzled away, with Phillip breaking things off before Christmas last year.
Yet Smith refused to take no for an answer, the Liverpool Echo reports. And things came to a head three months later, when she turned up at Phillip's flat in a rage. Phillip said: "That day, when I was up on the bonnet, I thought that's it, she's finally going to kill me. Every time I see a red Renault car it reminds me of her, and I'm always looking for the registration." The pair met last April as colleagues at Asda, in St Helens, and quickly hit it off.
