My Chemical Romance just announced they’ll be playing their anthemic 2006 album “Black Parade” in full along with the hits at stadiums all over North America from July through September.Midway through the nationwide run, Gerard Way and co.
are slated to march their Black Parade into East Rutherford, NJ’s MetLife Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 9 with special guests Death Cab For Cutie and Thursday.Interestingly, each show will feature a different, high-profile opening act.
Notable artists set to join MCR on other dates on the brief trek include throwback favorites like Alice Cooper, Violent Femmes, Garbage, Devo, Evanescence and Pixies.
Other shows feature new school powerhouses 100 Gecs, Wallows and IDLES.“It has been seventeen years since The Black Parade was sent to the MOAT,” the band said in a statement. “In that time, a great Dictator has risen to power, bringing about ‘THE CONCRETE AGE’; a glorious time of stability and abundance in the history of DRAAG.
