A murder investigation has been launched following the death of a man found "seriously injured" in a park in Old Trafford. Emergency services were scrambled to Penn Park, off Maher Gardens, at about 3pm on Monday, September 12.

A man was found with serious injuries, which he is believed to have sustained during a "horrific attack". He was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries on Sunday (October 2).

Police have now identified the victim as 51-year-old Headley Barry Thomas, known as Barry.
