Russia's biggest chemical plants went up in flames this week as its own infrastructure is being target from the inside.The plant in Dzerzhinsk was seen on fire, with huge plumes of black smoke billowing out from the top.And it could be seen as far as the Kremlin, as it's only 250 miles from Moscow.The target of the saboteurs was the large rail tankers filled with solvents at the factory – it took place on Wednesday (May 4). Around 150 emergency service workers tackled the blaze for more than nine hours, and it spanned over 2,500 square miles, and a fire fighting train was also deployed to help.The plant is thought to be where Grad and Smerch rockets are made, as well as gunpowder for small arms.One local told Russia's Pravda newspaper that the “building just flew into the air”.They added: “The plant just doesn't exist any more.”Three people were confirmed to have died in the fire - Svetlana Bardakova, 59, Olga Savishchenko, 43, and Ulyana Frants, 36.The cause of the blaze is officially unknown, but reports outside of Moscow claim it was done by insiders.
