Detectives have launched a murder investigation after a man was found dead six days after being attacked in Manchester city centre.
David Aubert was assaulted on Bloom Street in the Gay Village in the early hours of June 2, police say. The 59-year-old was taken to hospital, but later discharged himself.
Four days later, worried family members reported him missing. Mr Aubert was sadly found dead at an address on at around 11am on June 8.
The incident has been referred to GMP's Professional Standards Branch who have referred it to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
