Murder cops in Edinburgh have been carrying out door-to-door inquiries after a man died in hospital following an attack at a bus stop.Nashir Ahmed, 65, died at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh five days after he was seriously assaulted on Ferry Road at 8.30pm on Sunday, March 10.
Another man, 38, was also injured during the incident but was later released from hospital.Police are currently treating Mr Ahmed's death as murder with a subsequent investigation underway.
On Thursday, March 21, a marked police car was seen on the nearby Largo Place with officers carrying out door-to-door inquiries.Several local businesses on Ferry Road also told our sister title Edinburgh Live officers have been seen in the area every day since the attack.It is understood they have been asking nearby residents and workers if they saw anything which could help with their investigation.
Inquiries into the incident remain ongoing as the search for the attacker continues.The attacker is described as black, around 30-years of age, with short, dark hair.
