Mum with massive breasts forced to pay for private op after years of crippling pain

A YOUNG mum was forced to pay for a private operation to reduce the size of her breasts after suffering years of back pain.

Caitlin Carruthers needed to wear two sports bras to exercise and was in constant agony due to her 40H chest. Now, after the life-changing surgery, the make-up artist is pain free for the first time in years.

The 24-year-old, from Ecclefechan near Dumfries, is looking forward to going on holiday when she will pull on a slimline 34C bikini.Caitlin, who has a three-year-old son, Vinnie, shed 16kg, or two-and-a-half stone, and dropped five dress sizes from a size 20 to a size 10 in six months.But the one place she didn’t see a reduction was in her breasts.So last month she had surgery to remove 1.6kg of tissue from them – the weight of about one-and-a-half bags of sugar.She said: “I have struggled with the size of my breasts since I was 13, and have had periods of feeling really uncomfortable in my skin.“Before and, especially after my weight loss, I would regularly get ready for nights out, then have a meltdown about the size of my breasts and cancel the evening.“After the surgery, it was like a weight had been lifted, both physically and emotionally.” Caitlin gave up wearing a normal bra about five years ago.She said: “I could never find one to fit me properly and they were really uncomfortable.”Before the surgery, running was painful and she often returned home crying due to back pain, despite layering several items of tight clothing including wearing two sports bras, which were three sizes too small for her, in an effort to compress her breasts.On holiday, she would swelter in oversized T-shirts in an attempt to hide them.She is delighted that the surgery has gone so well she will be able to
