A mum is commemorating the fifth anniversary of the day her beloved son was savagely taken from her. University student Taylor Black, aged just 18, never returned home after attending a birthday party, having been stabbed a total of 64 times – with 40 wounds inflicted upon his head.
His devastated mother, Lindsey Allison, was irrevocably changed by the loss, but her ordeal was compounded during the trial for her son's murder.
The "monster" who brutally murdered her child on February 17, 2020, was his one-time friend, Nathan Costello, whom Taylor had known through martial arts.
Costello denied responsibility for the killing, claiming he did not remember stabbing Taylor in the chest and striking his head repeatedly, despite previously admitting to the act in text messages.
