A full-time carer says her self-esteem has been shattered after being left feeling 'like Frankenstein's monster' following surgery.
Sarah Haslam, from Radcliffe, first knew something was wrong when she struggled with an eight-week long period. Her stomach began to grow, and Sarah's loved ones believed she was expecting another child as she appeared to be nine-months pregnant.
But following a month of concern, Sarah was diagnosed with uterine fibrosis, a usually non-cancerous growth on the uterus. Sarah, 44, waited 18 months before being able to have the huge mass removed from her womb at Royal Oldham Hospital.
But the procedure has left her with an 'enormous' scar, and the ordeal has rocked Sarah's confidence.
