Mum's tribute to 'wonderful' son after death at Glasgow St Patrick's Day event

A devastated mum has hailed her "wonderful" son after he died following a St Patrick’s Day event in Glasgow. Nick Fish, 23, attended a bash at Box Hub on Washington Street on Sunday, March 17.He was reported missing at around 7pm that night and, sadly, his body was found nearby at around 8pm on Monday.

Nick, from Helensburgh, was "so fun and so funny", according to his heartbroken mother, who told STV News that her son passed away in a "tragic freak accident".

Gill Fish said: “Nick was just wonderful. He was so fun, and so funny. He absolutely adored his mum, dad, stepmum, and stepdad.“Nick was so incredibly loved by all; young and old, relatives and friends; colleagues and teachers.

His sisters adored him.“He was such a popular and friendly face at the petrol garage at Helensburgh in Tesco. He was an absolute star behind the till.“The devastating pain and impact of his death is unfathomable.
