A mum has spoken of her anger after her four-year-old son was expelled from primary school and forced to stay home for five months.
Laura Jordan's son Zac was excluded from Holly Hill Church School in Rubery, Bromsgrove, back in October due to behavioural problems, including attacks on other young students and staff.
However, she was shocked to find out that councils are not required to get children back into education if they are expelled before their fifth birthday.
As a result, Zac has been left with no choice but to stay in the house for nearly half a year - and is now scared to go outside. The youngster turned five back in February, meaning that the council has find him another school before April, but his mum believes he has undiagnosed special educational needs that won't be properly addressed within a mainstream school.Worcestershire County Council has since apologised for failing to find a suitable school for Zac and said it is working with his mum to get him back into education.
