Mum 'overcome with nerves' as she went home with Tinder date ends up in court

A mum smashed her car into a lamp post after she drank too much wine while 'overcome with nerves' on a Tinder date. Trainee accountant Simone Keogh, 33, tested more than three times the drink drive limit after she wrote off her Kia Rio while driving home with her date, a court heard.

The mum-of-one crashed into a lamp post before reversing into a wall and then getting the vehicle lodged on a bollard following the date at the Ring O' Bells pub in Darebsury, Cheshire.

A witness called police after she was seen to get out of the car and walk away and she was stopped and breathalysed nearby. Inquiries revealed it had been her first blind date since she split up with her long-term partner and she and her unnamed date ended up sharing two bottles of wine together.

She is no longer in touch with the man and the court heard that a probation officer who spoke to Keogh concluded it was a 'blind date which turned unsavoury'.
