Mum in tears after finding autistic son's heartbreaking note about coronavirus fears

A mum was reduced to tears after she found a heartbreaking note from her autistic son begging her not to make him go to school in fear he'd transmit coronavirus.

Deirdre Holmes, 51, from Northern Ireland, discovered the message one morning when she went to make her 6 am coffee. Terrified by the risk of the coronavirus pandemic, Nicholas, 13, opened up about his fears of going to school in a letter, which broke mum Deirdre's heart, reports Belfast Live.

The note, written in felt tip pen on kitchen paper, said: "I don’t want to go to school. I don’t feel safe there right now!!!!!

Plaes Mum. I don’t feel safe." Deirdre said: "It was six o’clock in the morning and I was standing there in tears. Nicholas loves school and wouldn’t miss a day
