Angela Rayner’s son asked her to step down as an MP because of the number of threats she receives. The deputy Labour leader says her own mother believes people are “trying to kill” her.

And she has revealed that her youngest children have been trained to evacuate their home and how to use panic buttons due to police security concerns. Former delivery driver Benjamin Iliffe was handed a two-year restraining order last month after he admitted sending a threatening email to Ms Rayner.
