A mum's liver had swelled up so much due to cancer she “looked six months pregnant” but had been told by her GP for four years it was “just haemorrhoids”.
Lucy Ogilvie, 40 – whose bowel cancer spread to other organs – believes doctors “need to keep up to date” because a higher proportion of younger people are being diagnosed than ever before.
She is now fighting for the right to use a treatment which is currently unapproved in Europe. Her rare stage four cancer is highly mutational and the mum-of-two was told at diagnosis she would live no longer than December but is determined to prolong her life for her daughters.
